India to closely watch Netizens’ online activity

India government plans to closely watch Netizens’ online activity. India’s government is looking for a company to analyze social media posts to help boost nationalism. The India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting released a tender looking for a company to provide analytical software and constitute a team of 20 professionals to “power a real time New Media Command Room.”

Citizen activists have already raised concerns on privacy and point out that these measure would do little to counter the fake news doing rounds on social media.
